Professional Contribution to Nation
Professional Contribution to Nation in 1992 and 2009: Detected adulteration in Paracetamol
syrup, a fever reducing medicine for children. Adulteration was done by Diethylene Glycol,
an industrial solvent. This caused death of thousands of children in Bangladesh with kidney
failure. Detection of this adulteration resulted in saving the lives of innumerable children in
Bangladesh. It caused awareness among also highlighted the need for better legislation
and restructuring of the Drug Policy and Drag Admin in Bangladesh.
